BRIDGEWATER, New Jersey, January 28, 2009 – Enpirion is honored to receive the 2008 Product of the Year Award from Electronic Products magazine for its EN5395QI 9A buck regulator. The 33rd annual Product of the Year Awards were announced in the January 2009 issue of Electronic Products. Enpirion is a two-time winner, having won the 2006 Product of the Year award for its EN5312Q 1A buck regulator.
“The struggle to increase the power density, maintain pricing, and improve efficiency is an ongoing goal for electronic companies, especially those that develop power-related products. Enpirion has cause to celebrate meeting those lofty objectives with the introduction of the EN5395QI, a 9-A dc/dc converter that delivers a power density of 76 W/in.2 , one of the highest for any switch-mode dc/dc converter,” said Electronic Products Senior Editor Paul O’Shea. “The converter achieves the outstanding power density by integrating the inductor, MOSFETs, and controller in a 10 x 12 x 1.85-mm package.”
Enpirion’s 9A DC-DC features Enpirion’s proprietary integrated-inductor technology and ultra-high switching frequency, enabling the PwrSoC (power supply on a chip) to achieve high noise immunity with a very small footprint. The part also offers two options for setting the output voltage, providing the utmost flexibility for the user. The EN5395QI point-of-load regulator is ideally suited for distributed power architectures such as storage, networking, computing, telecom, and audio/video.
